New Orleans (February 27, 2011) – New Orleans-based DUKES of Dixieland ® and The Oak Ridge Boys are pleased to announce their collaboration, When Country Meets Dixie, a harmonious new album which suggests “big band ragtime meets barbershop country.” The album, which merges two distinct genres of music, is the brainchild of New Orleanian John Shoup, longtime producer/manager of the DUKES. When Country Meets Dixie is now available on iTunes and will be released by Sony on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. According to Shoup, "We're introducing a new genre on this album. Nobody's ever done it before, but I always felt like country music and Dixieland music go together. And it worked so well. To me, it's like a perfect marriage."
