Owen Callahan - Reeds
Born in 1990 and grew up in Carlisle, MA. In 2008 he put on an award winning performance in the Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra's concerto competition by performing the Glazounov Concerto for alto sax. Later he studied and recorded with Anthony Braxton, then the far east including Viet Nam, Thailand & Cambodia; Japan, followed by Guatamala & Spain, and ending up at Wesleyan University.
His repertoire runs from Sidney Bechet to John Coltrane and is accomplished on flute, sax and clarinet as well as a vocalist. His jazz infuses the DUKES with a sound that is unique and full of surprises.
