I attended tonight's concert in Benaroya Hall in Seattle (April 14, 2011). You gave me an even better experience than I expected. I know none of you are the original members and you did them proud. (I had one of their LP's for years until I didn't have the means to play it anymore)
You moved me and touched me in many very good ways. Thank you. You are all excellent musicians and great jazz men.
I am having major surgery on May 3 and plan on holding my memories of your performance in my mind as they put me under. Hopefully my surgery will go smoothly and be successful and my recovery will be speedy and free from complications. Tonight will help me through that experience.
I know the audience loved you and, because Seattle people for the most part are overly polite, they may not have given you as much audible feedback as they should. I know about that being an actress, stand up comedienne and singer. One time, after I did my comedy routine (it was a particularly brutal night with no-one laughing at some very talented comedians), I went into the ladies room and a woman there approached me and told me that she and her companions had enjoyed my performance so much that they were nodding, grinning and nudging each other with their elbows. I thanked her and then I explained to her that we comedians needed to hear them giggle, titter, chuckle, moan, groan and laugh since we couldn't see them grinning, etc. Same goes for acting and I am certain for musicians like yourselves. I applauded as much as I could, but I am only one person. There were three women in the second tier at the back who kept their lights on throughout your performance, I'm certain you probably couldn't see them, but they were there.
Again, thank you for a wonderful, positive and fun evening. Loved every minute!
